When you move into your luxury apartment at Castle, you’re sure to fall in love with all the high-end features in your home and the many community amenities right at your fingertips. In fact, you may find yourself staying home more often! But, if you’re in need of a little day trip just to get a change of scenery, we recommend checking out Greenwich, Connecticut. It’s just a quick train ride away from your future Castle home and offers visitors great dining and entertainment!

Dining in Greenwich

The restaurant scene in Greenwich is very impressive. There are many cuisine options, so you’re sure to find your favorite type of food, or something completely new! Here a couple of our top picks:

Char Restaurant

Char, a contemporary American restaurant, serves food made using local meats and produce as much as possible. Lunch favorites include hanger steak frites and grilled Scottish salmon. You could easily stop here for a delicious lunch before enjoying other Greenwich activities and attractions. However, if you’re looking for dinner in Greenwich, you might want to save your visit to Char for an evening meal. The dinner menu boasts delicious entrees such as artisan spaghetti and veal meatloaf. Whichever meal you end up getting, you’ll enjoy the warm ambiance created by the reclaimed wood used throughout the building.

Fuzari Pizza

If you happen to love Italian food, we recommend checking out Fuzari Pizza. This restaurant has a plethora of pizza options, from classic favorites to gourmet combinations, and in a variety of sizes. Whether you’re traveling alone or in a big group you’ll be able to get the perfect pizza because Fuzari has sizes from personal to large. Besides pizza, this local favorite has calzones, pastas, chicken entrees, and more.

Fun Activities in Greenwich

A day trip includes more than just food. There are several fun things to do once you’re in Greenwich.

A great place to do some shopping is Greenwich Avenue. This is the main street in the city and is lined with upscale shops and dining. From big names like Saks and lululemon, to smaller boutiques such as Betteridge and Vineyard Vines, there’s something for everyone. Get some gift shopping done, or treat yourself to something new for your wardrobe! Even if you just feel like window-shopping, it’s a nice place to take a stroll!

Outdoor Activities and Local Attractions

If you’re looking to spend time outdoors during your visit to Greenwich, we recommend visiting either the Audubon Center or the LEO Zoological Conservation Center (or both!). The Audubon Center features education about the area and local wildlife, as well as beautiful hiking trails and nature walks. The LEO Zoo focuses on conservation and helping animals who are losing their habitats. It’s a wonderful place for families and people of all ages to visit. Not only do you get to enjoy being outside, but you also get to see many animals you wouldn’t see on a normal basis.

If you’re looking for something to do indoors, we recommend visiting the Bruce Museum. This small but exciting museum is one of the best in the area with rotating exhibits highlighting art, natural history, and science. You can learn a lot in one visit and with so much to see, you’re sure to want to come back again and again.

As you can see, there is so much waiting to be enjoyed just outside your future Castle apartment in Port Chester. You can stay in and enjoy your luxury apartment’s features and amenities, explore your Port Chester neighborhood, or travel just a few minutes away and experience the joy of Greenwich, Connecticut!
