Rye House in Port Chester

Posted by editor on 06/13/15

Port Chester gets a lot of attention in our area for their numerous quality dining options, all of which are walking distance from your Castle apartment. While our little village has been featured in the New York Times numerous times over the year for our culinary scene, it seems the newest addition to the Port Chester village is already making waves with the food critics. Rye House of Port Chester got A+ reviews this month from one of the world’s most popular newspapers!

Rye House may be brand new, but from it’s rustic, antique loft vibe inside you’d think it’s been in Port Chester for decades. Marble countertops, leather upholstery, rough-hewed posts and beams, tilted mirrors, dual flat screens and a well-stocked bar make it look like the dream bachelor pad of in a Soho loft. Rye House is the combination of bar and restaurant, however, neither are your typical bar options. With a deep inventory of small-batch ryes and bourbons, a playful roster of cocktails,  a dozen draft beers; and a quirky but appealing wine list Rye House has something for all drinker’s palettes. But leave some room for the food!

The Rye House menu draws influence from the varied regional cuisines found across the American landscape, drawing influences from the South, the Southwest, the Heartland and just about any other place in the US where you can find great flavors. The food showcases the best ingredients available with a commitment to local and sustainable sourcing. With such a varied menu there’s always something new to try, whether it’s their Creole remoulade, sweet Thai wings, chorizo sliders, kale salad, as the NY Times states “There was really little not to recommend.”
