Halloween Fun Close to The Castle

Posted by editor on 10/19/15

With only a few weeks left in October it’s time to hit up all the fun Halloween activities and fall festivals if you haven’t already! Westchester has many attractions through the end of the month that our future residents at The Castle can attend.

The Harvest Moon Fall Festival will be happening the remaining October weekends from 10am-5pm. Located nearby to Port Chester in North Salem, this event is the perfect outdoor adventure to be a part of the beautiful fall weather we ‘ve been having this October. For a small admission fee of $5.00 there are many activities to choose from throughout the day. The festival will include apple picking, pumpkin picking from their patch, hayrides all around the farm, bounce castles for kids (adults welcome too!) and many more games and activities. The animal farm will also be open and pony rides offered to the smallest of guests. Plenty of food will also be available from participating vendors including BBQ, brick oven pizza, soup, hamburgers, hot dogs and Harvest Moon’s famous turkey legs! There will also be plenty of fall favorite treats such as kettle cooked popcorn, pumpkin cakes, other delicious baked goods, funnel cake and many more to choose from. You can learn more about this fall event from their website.

Another fabulous fall festival taking place close by in Tarrytown is the Sleepy Hallow Festival of Witches. This event is not only celebrates the brisk weather and beautiful natural scenery around Westchester, but gets visitors into the Halloween spirit! The festival tells the story of Hula, an immigrant witch from Bohemia. You’ll learn all about her story plus everything you could want to know about witches. Salem may be America’s most famous Bewitched city, but Tarrytown is not too far behind! The event takes place on Saturday October 24th and Sunday October 25th.  Other magical activities that will be available to visitors to take part in include readings of tarot cards with lessons on how to read your own cards. There will also be candle workshops, henna art and ghost hunting. To learn more you can take a look here.
