Posted by editor on 02/07/16

Mardi Gras is a festive day of celebration. Our residents at The Castle can celebrate by going out and enjoying Mardi Gras specials and events in Westchester, or hold on to some of these recipes and ideas for cooking up New Orleans inspired meals when you’re at home in your Castle apartment.

Just a few short minutes away from us here in Port Chester, Rye Roadhouse will be having a Fat Tuesday Special Event! This annual celebration will start at 4 pm will no certain ending time. Their special menu for the day includes some delicious New Orleans cuisine such as Creole Crab Bisque Soup, Flame Broiled Oysters and Homemade Mardi Gras King Cake. Pair your dish off with the famous Rye Roadhouse Hurricane. There will also be tons of giveaways and Mardi Gras beads for everyone! Their Facebook page and website have all the details for the event.

A little further south in lower Westchester, The Bayou Restaurant in Mt. Vernon will host their annual Mardi Gras Bash for the 25th year in a row! About a 25 minute drive from The Castle, this event is well worth the trip. The musical feature for the evening will be performances from Grammy nominated artist CJ Chenier and The Red Hot Louisiana Band. There is a fixed price for dinner and bar cover so take a look at their website or Facebook page for more information.
