Spring into Your Castle Apartment

Posted by editor on 04/25/16

Before you move into your Castle apartment, now is the perfect time to get a jump start on your spring cleaning. Get rid of any unnecessary things which are cluttering your current space and start over with a fresh new look for your new apartment. Before you move, drop off unwanted clothes, furniture and other items to our local Goodwill or Salvation Army. Both are a few minutes drive from The Castle!

Before you get to cleaning, stock up on cleaning supplies. The following items can be bought at Bed Bath & Beyond (don’t forget your coupon!) which is a mile away from the Castle Apartments. They’ll be useful for both cleaning your current apartment, and also great items to have when you move into the Castle.

  • Microfiber Cloths
  • All-purpose cleaner
  • Rubber gloves
  • Dry Mop
  • Bathroom cleaner

The best way to get your cleaning done quickly and efficiently is going room by room. Empty it out, and bring back in only wht you need and love after cleaning it. You may want to start off with the room you dislike cleaning the most, this way you you’ll get it out of the way and you won’t be exhausted having to clean it after the other rooms. A trick to remember while cleaning is to dust fans, art and light fixtures first before doing the floors so you won’t have to vacuum/mop twice.

After the apartment is clean and organized you can start to brighten it up! Adding a pop of color to your walls such as bright greens and blues which can add a sense of renewal and rejuvenation. You can incorporate these colors with accent pieces, such as throw pillows, blankets, vases or picture frames. Housebeautiful.com suggests putting a colorful piece in the entrance of your home. Target in White Plains, NY is only fifteen minutes away and sells furniture and artificial plants and flowers which can help brighten up your apartment. Homegoods and Pier 1 are also only a few minutes drives from us in Port Chester and are great places to find unique items for your new apartment.
