Summer Weekend Fun Around Port Chester

Posted by editor on 07/15/16

Not sure what to do this hot July weekend? We put together a list of some fun summer activities going on around The Castle and Port Chester.

Rescue Me Exhibit – This exhibit runs through September 24, 2016 at the transFORM Gallery.  Ten percent of all artwork sales will be donated to The Humane Society of Westchester In an effort to raise awareness for the compassionate care and treatment of animals. TransFORM Gallery extended an open call to artists for artwork animal themed in nature – both wild and domestic. After receiving dozens of applications, the committee carefully made their selections for the upcoming shows.

Garcia’s at The Capitol TheaterThe Mighty Fergusons will be jammin’ this weekend  with at the Capital Theater.  They are a groove-oriented jam band and have perfected songs from artists such as Bob Marley, Phish, Sublime and The Grateful Dead.  Come get your groove on! The best part is that it’s walking distance from your apartment.

Family Yoga on the Lawn– Enjoy a free yoga class this Sunday at the beautiful Wainwright House.  Start your day off right with some stretching and meditation.  After the hustle n’ bustle of the weekend it’s the perfect exercise before you start a new week.

Lawrence Brewing Company – If you love oysters and beer then you won’t want to miss the 5th annual Mother Shucker event held at this awesome brewery.  They’ll also have live music and fun contests.  The ticket also includes a Seafood Roast (shrimp, crawfish, clams, mussels, corn & potatoes).  Our mouths are watering just thinking about it!
