Fall Dining in Port Chester

Posted by editor on 09/19/16

Did you know that Port Chester is known as the restaurant and entertainment capital of Westchester County? Fall is the perfect time of year to dine in our area.  There’s a cool breeze, al fresco dining by the water and you can experience some of the best food that Westchester has to offer. The next two weeks are going to be beautiful so make those dinner reservations! Some restaurants we suggest are Saltaire Oyster & Fish House, L’ Escale and Coals.

Saltaire is located in a century old historic grain warehouse along the Byram River right in Port Chester.  The have the widest selection of pristine oysters in the tri-state area and their menu includes the freshest seasonal catch from local, regional and international waters.  You’ll also find an enticing beverage menu with artisan wines, craft beer and craft distillers.  If you’d like to learn more about oysters, Soltaire will have an expert teach you about the varieties of oysters while you enjoy a wine pairing.

L’Escale is a beautiful restaurant is located at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor Hotel and has a waterfront terrace where you can enjoy fine dining and drinks with friends.  They have live music Wednesday-Saturday 7-11PM and serve delicious seasonal Mediterranean food.  Some popular items off their dinner menu are; the halibut with fingerling potatoes, wilted spinach and a lemon caper sauce, the all-natural chicken with polenta cake, mushrooms and creamed spinach and the grilled lamb chops.  If you want to go all out you can order the plateau royal appetizer which is a selection of fresh shellfish for $135.00.

If you’re looking for something more casual, head over to Coals.  It’s a cozy pizza place with a funky little bar and great beers on tap.  They also have outdoor dining so you can get a nice hot crispy pizza, a glass of pinot noir or a craft beer and call it a night!
