October Activities around Port Chester

Posted by editor on 10/06/16

There’s many ways to enjoy October this year around Port Chester. Whether you’re excited for large German beers, the fall foliage, a haunted forest or a harvest fest…you’ll find it around The Castle!

Holbrook Cottage – Hop in the car and celebrate their 20th anniversary with a tasting of 20 new delicious items they added to the market.  This is the perfect spot to help get you in the mood for fall.  They also have beautiful gift baskets you can get for any events you are attending this season and nice décor that you can purchase for your apartment.  Of course they have fall themed candles which every home needs during this season!

Audubon Center – If you’re looking for something spooky, you’ll want to get tickets to the haunted forest at this beautiful nature center.  Come celebrate Halloween a few days early with a freaky, fun-filled night.  You’ll tour their haunted trail and encounter creepy creatures along the way.  Enter at your own risk!

Another reason to visit Audubon this October is the re-opening of Georgie’s Pond and the grand opening of their unique nature trail on October 22nd.  This trail has gorgeous rolling hills but provides a smooth service for easy walking.  They will have outdoor activities as well.

Oktoberfest – it’s not fall without an official Oktoberfest celebration and you can enjoy one close to home right over the state line. RSVP a table for you and some friends so you can enjoy live music, authentic German food and of course extremely large beers at the Cos Cob Oktoberfest! Some items you’ll find on the menu are beer and cheese soup, Schwein schnitzel, bratwurst, German potato salad, red cabbage and apple strudel. Yum!
