Enjoy Local Arts this January

Posted by editor on 01/05/17

If you’re looking for something free and inspiring in January, head to ArtsWestchester’s “Remedy” exhibit in White Plains, NY which will be on display until January 14th.

For more than 50 years, ArtsWestchester has been the community’s hub for the arts and is now nationally recognized.  Their mission is to “provide leadership, vision, and support to ensure the availability, accessibility, and diversity of the arts”.  They provide programs and services that help enrich the lives of art lovers in Westchester County.  In 1998 they renovated a nine-story neo-classical bank which now serves as their headquarters and a historic building in the community.  It’s beautiful and we highly recommend checking it out!  The arts are thriving in Westchester largely because of ArtsWestchester.  They partnered with Westchester County Government allowing arts to be on the public agenda and have invested more than $35 million over the years in arts and culture in the county.

Some upcoming events you can look forward to, along with the Remedy exhibit, are drawing and ceramic classes and their annual Irish House Party.  This event is a celebration of traditional Irish arts and culture and there will also be live performances.

If you are passionate about the arts, you can become a member and be a part of the ArtsWestchester family.  You’ll stay up-to-date on Westchester’s cultural scene through their publications and get the best seats for their upcoming events and performances.

ArtsWestchester is just a 15 minute car ride away from The Castle.
