Shakedown Sundays at Capital Theater

Posted by editor on 08/10/17

If you love Grateful Dead and jam bands then you’ll want to check out Capitol Theater’s Shakedown Sundays held at their Garcia bar.  As some as you may know, Jerry Garcia’s birthday was on August 1st so there are a lot of festivals happening this month all over the country but Castle residents won’t have to travel far to get their Jerry Garcia fix.  At each shakedown you’ll find clothing, craft and art vendors, pizza and popcorn and iconic classic concert posters for sale.

Shakedown Sunday starts on August 13th and runs through the month of August.  Sunday featuring Electric Love Machine.  Electric Love Machine (ELM) describes themselves as “an outer space adventure through sound, infused with doses of electronic funk, traditional Americana and improvisational jazz, and whose foundation is built on a sense of community”.

On August 20th, you can enjoy jams by Broccoli Samurai.  Since forming in Cleveland, OH in 2010, they have been taking the festival scene by storm.  The band’s synth-laden, drum and bass influences, progressive electronica has been thrilling audiences throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast markets, and now they have a huge loyal fanbase.

Bad Faces is a musical trio from Brooklyn, NY who will be performing at Garcia’s on August 27th.  They are a rock ‘n’ roll band that plays fun, unique and creative music.  Their vibe is similar to Elvis Presley mixed with Grateful Dead, sounds different, but it works!
